Davis bacon act was introduced to ease minimum wage determination process for employees working on federal funded projects. This include people working on construction or repair of public buildings, decorating and painting. This is why we have seen it important learning about Davis bacon projects.

First of all, the minimum wage to be paid by employers is determined by the secretary of the labor department. A research is carried out to find out whether there is a prevailing wage floor. In the vent that it is available, that is what is used. However, if it is not available, she is find it out by getting the average wage. This shows us that the employers are not the ones who set the floor.

With time, the determined procedure for getting minimum wage might need to be modified. This is the responsibility of the department of labor to change the existing wage rate. This changes are known as supersedes wage determinations. They are determined and issued year after year to the government organizations.

The act does not consider those who are not engaged on the jobsite.

Be organized in your work. A good proprietor is a good record keeper. This is not just for the sake of the wages but for the success of your work. Ensure you have all the payrolls and the documents that shows that you already paid your works. Make sure you have indicated all the benefits provided, deductions made and the total time taken. This will ease your work in case the documents are demanded.

Additionally, all the information submitted should be truthful. You should not try to fake the figures. If in any case you are found guilty, then you will be subjected to criminal and civil obligation. To avoid this, make sure you follow the procedures carefully. Repeat the calculations to be more accurate.

Last of all, you need to understand that you can get yourself into a mess if you fail to pay the set prevailing minimum salary. First, the job contract can be brought to an end. Second, you might not be allowed to get another contract until three years are over. On top of that, before you are paid for the work done, some money will be deducted to cater for the losses incurred to your workers. This is why you ensure you follow the rules and laws as expected.
